July 13th –  July 17th
9 AM  – 12 PM
$250 for 1 week
all professional art materials are included
Course suitable for 3rd grade and up (including adults)

These five-day workshops are all about painting from nature while enjoying the outdoors. We will be working on location at beaches, wetlands, and other natural parks in the Orange County area. We will study waves, marshes, clouds, bluffs and how to paint what you see. Throughout the course, students will learn step by step through the process of creating a successful work of art inspired by nature

The workshop will be divided into two groups depending on age and skill set. The younger students will be led by Esther Yardley in creating with watercolor, pastels, and acrylic paint. The older students will work with Chapman Hamborg creating in oil paints. Chapman, and Esther will give demos and individual critiques to each student during the workshop, specific to their needs.

At the conclusion of this workshop, students will have learned how to choose an interesting composition, draw preliminary sketches, apply color theory, use a variety of brushwork and techniques, create depth using atmospheric perspective, and learn how to share their experience in nature through painting. This class is created for all levels of skill from complete beginners to advanced students.

Note: We will do our best to maintain social distancing and be as safe as possible.

Total payment required beforehand to ensure booking.

TERRA'S MONEY MESSAGE:

The payment holds your spot until the time of your scheduled workshop. Your payment can not be paid by instructional funds from your charter and is not refundable. If you do not register and pay, you may be surprised to find that the workshop is sold out, and the teacher is not prepared for your student. A purchase order is not enough to consider yourself registered. The purchase order from your charter does not give us any contact information for you, tell us specifically which class you desire, or include the signed Terms and Conditions document.

The payment also causes potential students to consider which courses they need carefully, prevents spots from being held unnecessarily, and gives the teacher accurate information from which to plan their classes.

DROP POLICY: Drops are accepted, but the payment will not be fully refunded. If canceling with more than 24 hours notice, 50% of your payment will be refunded. If you are canceling with less than 24 hour notice, no refund will be allotted.

In the case that quarantine conditions require us to cancel, we will refund you the full amount.
