Doer Day Students and Families:
We hope you’ll join Terra Arts on Friday, October 7th, as we venture out to Riley’s Farm to experience what life was like in the colonies.
During our 2-hour visit we’ll experience the domestic, agricultural, and cultural heritage of Colonial America through hands-on workshops like candle dipping, butter making, and writing with a quill and ink, among others! Once the event concludes, guests will be able to stay and explore the farm at their leisure.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS FIELD TRIP REPLACES DOER DAY CLASSES ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6TH AND FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7TH. THE SCHOOL’S CAMPUS WILL BE CLOSED ON THOSE DAYS.
Admission costs are included as part of tuition for enrolled DOER DAY students. Accompanying parents, siblings, friends, and Thinker Day students/families may also register for a nominal fee of $15 per person (see ticketing section below).
TRANSPORTATION AND DIRECTIONS
Parents/Guardians will be responsible for transporting their child(ren) to and from the event, and it is asked that guests arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the event.
This tour will take place in the Chesterfield area of the farm (see MAP for directions and details), and guests should park in the lower, roadside parking lot.
Sack lunches are encouraged. Food should also be available for purchase on site at the Bakery and Restaurant. You may visit their MENU for more information on available food and baked goods. If anyone in your party has food allergies/intolerances, it is strongly recommended to bring your own food.
For those hoping to enjoy the day at the farm, nearby accommodations are available. Anyone interested can visit Riley’s Farm’s LIST OF HOTELS to inquire about booking.
Have questions? Please reach out to Michelle Enriquez for additional information: email@example.com
Thank you, and look forward to sharing in a Colonial experience with you and your family!
Tickets must be reserved by October 5th so we can give a final participant head count to the farm.
