Angela Hicks
Angela grew up in the countryside in Colorado where her love for the creative arts began. She was involved in 4-H as a child and enjoyed sewing, handicrafts, and art. At the age of 7 her sewing project won first place at the Colorado State Fair. In her teen years Angela and her family moved to Orange County where her love and passion for the visual arts flourished.
Angela studied at FIDM in Los Angeles and graduated with 2 degrees in Visual Communications and Marketing Management. She also taught at FIDM for over 10 years as an instructor in the Visual Communications Department. Angela has a passion for helping her students develop a love of the arts and has been instrumental in assisting many in their professional careers.
She has over 25 years of experience in the Home and Garden industry. She also has an extensive background in store design, merchandising, styling, and marketing. Angela’s work has led her all over the world, from Paris Flea Markets to North African Bazaars to Asian Markets searching for beautiful antiques and finds. The unique retail experiences that Angela created led her to be awarded and recognized nationally for store design and creative displays.
In 2020 Angela began the homeschooling journey with her daughter Lillian. Terra Arts allowed her to share her love for the arts with her daughter. It’s been an enriching experience to be able to nurture her daughter’s passion and growth for learning, and looks forward to guiding her in the years to come. Teaching at Terra Arts will allow her to help other children realize their potential and mentor them through their journey of the arts.
